Golden Gate Marathon Information

DETAILS

  • Aid stations will be located at miles 4.5 (water only), 6.5 ( food, water & sports drink) and 10.5 (water only). Marathoners will see these aid stations twice; marathoners will also have access aid (food, water & sports drink) at the start/finish area before starting the second loop.
  • The only aid station on the 7 Mile course is at mile 4 (water only).
  • There is a 6-hour coursewide cutoff; for marathoners, this is approximately a 13:45-per-mile pace.
  • There are showers and restroom facilities at Rodeo Beach (run start/finish location).
  • For your safety and Envirotainment, headphones and jogging strollers are not allowed.
  • Sorry, no dogs allowed on the trails.

RACEDAY ITINERARY
  • Athlete Check-In will be held from 8 to 8:50 a.m. in the picnic area at Rodeo Beach. If you're a pre-registered runner and have received your run bib in the mail, there's no need to check in; you're ready to run!
  • Safety pins and course maps will be available during Athlete Check-In.
  • Pre-race announcements will be made at 8:50 a.m.
  • Anticipated race start time is 9 a.m.
  • Plan to stay and enjoy our spread of post-race snacks, including Dave's famous homemade banana bread!
  • Runners will pick up T-shirts in the picnic area after the run.
  • No formal awards ceremony on raceday; ribbons will be mailed to the top-three finishers in 5-year age groups in a few weeks following the event.

INCENTIVES
T-shirt included. Medals to all Marathon finishers. Ribbons to top-three finishers in 5-year age groups for each distance.

RACE PACKETS
Race Packets, which include a bib number and the event Entrant Letter containing raceday details, will be mailed out to all paid participants beginning two weeks prior to event. A final mailing will be sent out the Tuesday prior to raceday. If you don't receive your packet before raceday, the Entrant Letter will be posted on the main page for this event on our website the week of the event. We will issue you a bib number during Athlete Check-In raceday morning (8 to 8:50 a.m. in the picnic area at Rodeo Beach).
